Albert Mercadé (Barcelona, 1981) is a historian and art critic. He is currently artistic director of the Arranz-Bravo Foundation in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, and also commissioner of the Cultural District of L'Hospitalet. He has taught art theory at Pompeu Fabra University and Eina School in Barcelona. He is the author of the catalog raisonné of the sculptor Joan Rebull (ACCA Award 2011) of the essay " Reserved matter. Catalan artists and the Venice Biennale " (ACCA Award 2009, Grup62), as well as studies dedicated to Antoni Tàpies, Sean Scully, Antoni Clavé, Josep Guinovart, Francesc d'A. Galí, Ràfols-Casamada, Romà Vallès or Jaume Mercadé. He has curated the exhibition 'Our Garden Needs Its Flowers. Flows and narratives in the cultural district of Hospitalet' (CATS, 2021), together with David Armengol. He has also curated exhibitions at the Tecla Sala Art Center (Xavier Grau), the Montserrat Museum (Jordi Fulla, Antonio Beneyto, Gerard Mas), the Vila Casas Foundation (Jiménez-Balaguer), the Palau Foundation (Joan Rebull) , Fundació Apel·les Fenosa (Jaume Mercadé), in Fontana d'or of Fundació Caixa de Girona and in the Center d'Art Contemporani Can Sisteré in Santa Coloma (Biennal Santa Coloma). He writes regularly for the magazine El Temps dels Arts and Bonart, but he has also done so for Cultura/s ( LaVanguardia ), Serra d'or, Hänsel i Gretel and Revista de Catalunya.
