On Thursday, April 10, the Quim Hereu Foundation and the Museum of Strangeness were presented in Celrà. The event was chaired by the artist Quim Hereu , co-founder of the movement, and was attended by prominent figures, such as the deputy mayor of Girona, Gemma Geis , the chef Jordi Cruz and Jennie Chua , Singapore's ambassador to Spain and member of the committee of her country's National Gallery.

The event took place as part of an institutional trip aimed at establishing links with the creative and business fabric of Catalonia. Other international guests from Singapore also attended, such as Gwyneth Lee , a technician at the Directorate for Europe of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Singapore, and Jun Yih Tan , Chief Operating Officer (COO) of SEA Ltd. and representative of one of the main technology conglomerates in Singapore. Tan is also responsible for brands such as Shopee , Garena , SeaMoney and Maribank , in addition to being the owner of the football club Lion City Sailors, FC.

During the event, the original of the first painting in the trilogy, entitled The Strange Birth of Venus (or the Factory of Time), was exhibited, along with a full-scale replica of another of the canvases. The other two originals of the trilogy, however, remain protected and packed in their containers until their transfer to their final location.

The largest pictorial trilogy in the world

The Estrambòtica Trilogy, composed of three oil paintings measuring 6 x 12 meters each, is considered the largest pictorial trilogy in the world. These works represent the visual manifesto of Estrambotism, an artistic movement created in Catalonia for which Quim Hereu is co-founder and main promoter. The event brought together prominent figures from the business, cultural, gastronomic and institutional spheres, with the aim of making a collective appeal for support for the project and announcing the creation of the Quim Hereu Foundation, which is currently in the process of being created. This foundation's mission is to preserve, disseminate and project this artistic legacy from Girona to the world.

In addition, chef Jordi Cruz, patron of the foundation, is already working on the creation of future bizarre dinners, unique gastronomic experiences inspired by the works of the trilogy, which will take place in the restaurant that he himself will direct within the Espai Quim Hereu – Museu de l'Estrambotisme, once it is inaugurated. The event concluded with a special moment in which Cafès Cornellà accompanied the meeting with a selection of coffee. To put a sweet touch to the event, Xuixos Castelló offered its emblematic xuixos, the official dessert of Girona, in homage to the third painting of the trilogy, entitled Ode to the xuixo.
