The Terracotta Museum of La Bisbal d'Empordà is hosting a new exhibition-installation by Pere Noguera , an essential figure in Catalan contemporary art. Landscape. Clay Dust is part of the Pere Noguera Year , a far-reaching project that pays tribute to his artistic career with the collaboration of institutions such as the Filmoteca de Catalunya , the Bòlit Centre d'Art Contemporan and the Fundació Vila Casas .
This installation invites us to reflect on the interaction between past and present through the symbolic use of local lands, valuing the connection between the artist, the landscape and the ceramic tradition of La Bisbal. At the same time, it addresses contemporary issues such as geopolitical tensions and the dualities that define today's society. Noguera has developed his work within the framework of the poor, ephemeral and conceptual poetics of the seventies, following the spirit of arte povera and claiming the use of simple materials but full of meaning and tradition. His artistic career is characterized by a process work in which the object, space and landscape become fundamental elements of his installations.
For the Terracotta Museum, hosting this work is more than an artistic event, it is a recognition of Noguera's deep connection with the institution, which he directed between 1996 and 2007, as well as his contribution to local heritage with the donation of part of his work.
