The Bancaja Foundation of Valencia inaugurates a new exhibition by Lita Cabellut , the first comprehensive review of her creative universe and her first solo show in Valencia. The exhibition brings together more than a hundred works by the Aragonese artist, offering an exhaustive tour of her career.

Born in 1961 in Sarinyena (Huesca) and established in the Netherlands for years, Cabellut has built a career marked by a profound exploration of the soul and the human condition. Her training at the Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam was decisive in her artistic evolution. Known for her ability to endow her figures with extraordinary strength, she intensely portrays emotions such as pain, fragility or resistance, and reflects on individual and collective struggles, as well as the search for identity in a world in constant transformation.

Curated by Eloy Martínez de la Pera , the exhibition will be open until the end of August and is organized under the title Vida desgarrando arte, structured around five fundamental concepts in Cabellut's work: life, passion, power, identity and freedom . Through these thematic axes, it invites visitors to delve into the emotional impulses that have defined his artistic production over the past few decades.

The diversity of works on display reflects the artist's multidisciplinary nature, including paintings, sculptures, installations and video art, many of which are unpublished and created in the last twenty years. Her works have become part of the permanent collections of prominent international contemporary art museums and are in prestigious private collections around the world. In addition, her career has been recognized with numerous distinctions, including the title of Doctor Honoris Causa by the University of Barcelona (2024) , the Artist of the Year award in the Netherlands and, most recently, the Encomienda de la Real Orden de Isabel la Católica (2024) .

According to the president of the Bancaja Foundation, Rafael Alcón, "this exhibition represents a unique opportunity for the city of Valencia, as it allows us to discover in depth the work of one of the Spanish artists with the greatest international projection."
