Under the title Revelation, the Alfolí de la Sal de l'Escala presents an exhibition by Teresa Gancedo , proposed by the Vila Casas Foundation within the Punts de Fuga program. The exhibition, curated by Natàlia Chocarro , offers a profound vision of the evolution of the artist and her extensive career, highlighting her close relationship with mysticism and spirituality. From her first exhibitions in the 1970s to the present day, Gancedo has maintained an uninterrupted career of creation, consolidating herself as one of the masters of contemporary painting.
The work of Teresa Gancedo (Sil, 1937) is distinguished by a visual language that moves between realism and the deepest dimension of existence. Her work presents a poetic approach, where matter and emptiness coexist in a delicate balance. This contrast between the tangible and the intangible, lightness and density, is explored in depth through the exhibited works, where symbols and signs are also present that the artist uses to initiate a deep reflection on the nature of reality. In this way, Gancedo's work not only investigates the surface of objects, but also searches for the hidden meaning behind them. This symbolic universe becomes the common thread of the exhibition, which, open to the public until May 2, reflects the artist's constant search for transcendence through painting.
