20th edition of the Miquel Viladrich International Award

The Torrelameu City Council has presented the 20th edition of the Miquel Viladrich International Award , a biennial competition that, since its inception, has evolved to adapt to new times. In this edition, the award once again has the sponsorship of the Institut d'Estudis Ilerdencs of the Diputació de Lleida and maintains the two categories introduced in the last editions. On the one hand, the Miquel Viladrich Painting Award continues to promote this discipline, which has been the core of the competition throughout its 38-year history. At the same time, the Miquel Viladrich Visual Arts Award is committed to projects that involve the community or territory of Torrelameu, promoting interaction between art and the local context.

With a prize of 3,500 euros per category, this award recognizes creativity and artistic commitment at a time of social transformation, in which culture plays a fundamental role. Works can be submitted until July 20. The jury for this edition is made up of prominent professionals from the artistic sector: Frederic Montornés , Gloria Picazo , Roser Sanjuan , Manel Margalef , Jesus Navarro and Anselm Ros .

In previous editions, the award has recognized renowned artists such as Jan Monclús and Maria Freire Montané in painting, and Duae Collective and Laia Solé in visual arts. With this new call, Torrelameu reaffirms its commitment to culture and its desire to promote artistic creation linked to the territory.
