The idea for Art in Real Time was born from conversations I had with my children while they were at university. Without me realizing it, my home and my phone became a point of reference for their friends: young enthusiasts eager to delve into collecting and understand the dynamics of the art market, but without knowing where to start. This spontaneous demand revealed the lack of accessible resources and, at the same time, highlighted the urgency of building a bridge between initial curiosity and in-depth knowledge of how to navigate the current art world, especially in the post-COVID context. Thus was born Art in Real Time: Collecting the Masters of Tomorrow, my first book, a guide that combines personal reflections with practical tools for those who, like me, love art and want to build meaningful collections.
One of the central tenets of Art in Real Time is the idea of "collecting with intention." I have never believed in acquiring pieces solely as acts of consumption; for me, art involves telling stories and weaving unique narratives. Each work I incorporate into my collection has a purpose: to expand my vision, create dialogues between different artistic currents and, above all, reflect my personal evolution, my story. In my book, I explain the value of knowing artists' work in depth, of establishing close relationships with galleries and of actively getting involved in the art circuit. I am convinced that art comes to life when we approach those who create it and participate in the spaces where it is exhibited.

My experience has also taught me the importance of identifying risks and challenges. The art market can be volatile and there are actors who operate with purely speculative interests. I have seen up close deceptive practices and the presence of the famous “flippers”, people who buy works with the intention of reselling them immediately, without any emotional or intellectual connection to the acquired item. In the book, I detail how to recognize these behaviors and how to safeguard our investments, while taking care of the artistic integrity of our collection.
Another of the great lessons I have learned over the years is that collecting is not limited to buying from the comfort of your home. To truly nourish yourself with art, it is essential to attend museums, galleries, fairs, visit studios and talk to the protagonists of the scene. You have to experience art in real time. Direct interaction has allowed me to discover incredible talents and enjoy transformative experiences. That is why, in each chapter of Art in Real Time, I share anecdotes about how presence and constant curiosity can open unexpected doors, both professionally and personally. The purpose of this book is to hold each reader's hand and navigate the world of art together.

I have been fortunate to work hand in hand with 10 collaborators, whose contributions complement my vision and offer readers an even more complete perspective. I firmly believe that art is a reflection of the reality in which we live and, at the same time, an engine that drives new perspectives. My intention is to invite collectors, artists and art lovers to question themselves, to explore and venture beyond what they already know. When I published the work, I could not help but feel nervous about how it would be received. However, within just two days, my book reached the top spot in several Amazon categories, including Business in Art in the United States, Women in Art and Permanent Collections, in both Kindle and hardcover. I could not believe it, I had written a bestseller. It was an unforgettable moment, not only because of the emotion of the recognition, but because it corroborated the enormous need to have a resource that spoke about art collecting in an open and realistic way in a language accessible to all audiences.

To whoever reads these pages, I wish to convey the passion with which I have experienced each discovery and each challenge. I trust that my experience will encourage you to build collections with a clear purpose, to understand the background of each work and to genuinely relate to the artistic ecosystem. Art is a universal language that connects us with our deepest emotions and invites us to dream of possible futures. I hope that, through my book, you will find the magic, inspiration and tools necessary to forge your own path in contemporary art.
We see each other in museums, galleries, fairs and artists' studios: that's where everything comes to life and where we can truly experience the transformative power of art.
Here's my favorite quote: "Art lovers follow artistic movements, true collectors take them further."
