With this celebration of its 25th anniversary, the Canon grant reaffirms its mission to promote diversity in photojournalism and to promote the creation of visual stories that help to better understand global reality. Thus, it has consolidated itself as a platform for supporting and disseminating projects with great social impact, giving voice to stories that are often invisible. Last year's winner, the Dutch Cynthia Boll , will present her work Reshaping Home: Indonesia's Capital Migration during the Perpignan festival. In this project, which began in 2014, Boll documents the consequences of the transfer of the capital of Indonesia, from Jakarta to the new city of Ibo Kota Nusantara. With more than 10 million inhabitants, Jakarta is sinking up to 20 centimeters a year due to groundwater extraction, which has forced the authorities to take drastic measures. Boll explores whether the new capital can become a sustainable and prosperous urban center.
