Adela Beltran: for the love of life

The Palau de la Música Catalana inaugurates the exhibition For the Love of Life by artist and graphic designer Adela Beltran . The show presents thirteen pieces that pay tribute to anonymous women who, despite not appearing in the history books, have left an indelible mark on later generations.

Born in Alcanar in 1973, Beltran has dedicated her career to expressing femininity and exalting the strength, character and resilience of women. After a career as a graphic designer, in recent years she has focused her creativity on painting, using techniques such as oil, acrylic, wax and collage on various media, including materials of organic and recycled origin. The central theme of her work is women, with female faces that, through their gaze, transmit thoughts and emotions. In this exhibition, which can be visited until May, Beltran recovers the memory of real and anonymous women, defined by their courage and dedication to others. She uses everyday materials of her protagonists, such as sheets or fabrics sewn by themselves, which she treats and transforms into canvases for her portraits. Through these supports, the artist seeks a dialogue with tradition, adding small details that contextualize the origin and day-to-day life of each woman. Thus, she transforms these elements into symbols of their essence and explores the connection between personal and collective memory, giving voice to those who have remained in the shadows.

Beyond her artistic side, Beltran is vice-president of the Fundació Úniques , an organization that promotes the art of women artists from the Catalan Countries. The foundation, based in Barcelona, aims to give visibility to women artists and promote collecting as a key tool for the preservation of contemporary female art.
