The 44th edition of the ARCOmadrid International Contemporary Art Fair closed its doors on Sunday with a very positive balance, reaffirming itself as a key event in the international artistic scene. With more than 95,000 visitors and the presence of around 40,000 professionals from the sector , the fair has stood out for the quality of its contents and commercial dynamism, consolidating Madrid as a nerve center for contemporary art.
With the participation of 214 gallerists from 36 countries, ARCOmadrid has become an essential meeting point for the art market in Spain and a privileged space for exchange between Europe and Latin America. In addition to the General Program, the fair has had sections such as Wametisé: ideas for an amazofuturism, Opening. New galleries and Profiles | Latin American art. Prestigious institutions and collections have reinforced their presence in this edition, making important acquisitions, including the Ministry of Culture and the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia , the ARCO Foundation , the Community of Madrid , the Ministry for Ecological Transition , and several other public and private entities.

ARCOmadrid Awards 2025
Different institutions and companies have recognized artistic talent with a series of awards given during the fair. The Belgian gallery Meessen received the Lexus Award for Best Stand and Artistic Content. The XX ARCO/BEEP Electronic Art Award 2025 was awarded to Eduardo Kac (Henrique Faria gallery).
The 9th edition of the Cerveses Alhambra Award for Emerging Art has awarded the artist Monica Mays (Pedro Cera and Blue Velvet galleries). The 18th illy SustainArt Award has gone to Claudia Pagès (Àngels Barcelona). In the Opening. New galleries category, the Young Talent Award, with the collaboration of the Banco Sabadell Foundation, has recognized Jeanne Gaigher (Reservoir) and Omar Castillo Alfaro (Sissi Club).

The 2nd ENATE-ARCOmadrid 2025 Award has distinguished Inmaculada Salinas (Rafael Ortiz), while the 1st MACAM Acquisition Award has gone to Xie Lei (Meessen). The Mallorcan Lara Fluxà (Bombon Projects) has been doubly awarded with the Pilar Forcada ART Situacions – ARCOmadrid 2025 Award and the Acquisition Award of the Fundació Úniques.
The Catalina d'Anglade Award went to Álvaro Urbano (Travesía Cuatro), and the Vila Casas Foundation awarded its acquisition prize to Lúa Coderch (Àngels Barcelona). The 2025 Recognition to a Spanish Artist by Artepuntoes went to Juana González (Espacio Mínimo), while Ana de Alvear (Espacio Valverde) received a special mention. The XI Opening. Noves Galeries Award went to the Colombian gallery Espacio Continuo .

As a novelty this year, the Juana de Aizpuru Award has been introduced, which has been awarded to the Krinzinger gallery for its historical journey at ARCO and its commitment to the fair.
With this edition, ARCOmadrid 2025 reaffirms itself as an essential event for the contemporary art sector, reinforcing its position as an international platform for the promotion and acquisition of art.
Presentation of bonart magazine
Also within the framework of the ARCOmadrid fair, bonart presented issue 201 of its magazine in Catalan and issue 0 of the new edition in Spanish at the stand of the Miguel Marcos Gallery . Publication 0 represents a new milestone for bonart, which after 25 years is taking the step of also publishing in Spanish to bring contemporary art and culture closer to the rest of the peninsula, as well as to Latin America.
The presentation was given by Ricard Planas Camps , CEO of bonart cultural, and Manuel Borja-Villel , historian and director of the Habitat Museum project, and took place right in front of the sculpture Ash Mirror, by Bernardí Roig , a work that is the cover of edition 0 of bonart in Spanish.
