The ARCO Foundation has awarded its Corporate Collection “A” Award to the Sorigué Foundation , recognizing its work in the promotion and dissemination of contemporary art. This award, considered one of the most relevant in the national scope, highlights the role of private and institutional collections in cultural enrichment.
The Sorigué Foundation, linked to the Sorigué business group, has consolidated its collection since 2000, when its founders, Julio Sorigué and Josefina Blasco , made a first donation of Noucentist works. Under the direction of Ana Vallés, the collection has grown to house more than 450 pieces by national and international artists. Its thematic axis revolves around the human condition, addressing universal issues that connect with society.

Within its artistic collection, there are works by established creators such as Anselm Kiefer , William Kentridge , Bill Viola and Juan Muñoz , along with proposals from emerging talents. The combination of these works allows a dialogue between different artistic disciplines and sensibilities. In addition to its collection, the foundation promotes the dissemination of art through exhibitions, educational initiatives and collaborations with other cultural entities. In 2013, it presented PLANTA , an innovative space located in an industrial environment where art, architecture, knowledge and landscape are integrated. This project has become a benchmark for creativity and reflection, reinforcing Sorigué's identity as a business group committed to art and innovation.
The Sorigué Foundation's trajectory had already been recognized with other awards, such as the Art and Patronage Award from the “La Caixa” Foundation in 2015 and the GAC Award for Collecting in 2017.
Along with Sorigué, other collections have been awarded by the ARCO Foundation in this edition: Patricia Phelps de Cisneros has received the Honorary “A” Award for her support of art, while Juan Carlos and Tati Maldonado have been distinguished with the “A” Award for International Collecting . Likewise, Fernando Arriola and Yolanda Zugaza have been awarded in the category of Collecting in Spain , and Àlex Ruas Wege has obtained the “A” Award for Young International Collection .
