The ninth edition of the fair, which will be held from March 6 to 9, 2025, will feature more than 40 galleries from all corners of the world: from Paris to Taipei via Palma de Mallorca, with Madrid as the central hub. A total of 160 artists will exhibit their work at the fair.
This year, at the initiative of the galleries, ceramics will have a greater role. "It is a technique that has always been present at the fair, but which, in recent years, seems to be generating more interest among artists and collectors. For this reason, we wanted to ensure that in this next edition it has a prominent place," says the fair's director, Sergio Sancho.
Focus Latam, new Latin American art section
The fair not only grows in the number of participating galleries, but also introduces a new section, Focus Latam , as a space for dialogue and celebration of Latin American art. This initiative, developed in close collaboration with curator and art critic Christian Viveros-Fauné and with the support of The Social Hub Iberia , will showcase a series of nine projects from Latin American galleries. The participants in this first Focus Latam are: Cerquone Gallery (Caracas/Madrid), Enllaç (Lima), SGR Galeria (Bogotá), Valerie's Factory (Buenos Aires), NN (La Plata), Isabel Croxatto Galeria (Santiago de Chile), Klaus Steinmetz Arte Contemporáneo (San José), Ginsberg + Tzu (Lima) and Marchante Arte Contemporáneo (Mexico City).
For its part, The Social Hub Iberia highlights its commitment to art and emerging talent from Latin America, becoming the official hotel of this program. Sergio Sancho states that "through this new section we seek to strengthen our commitment to supporting independent artists and galleries, expanding their visibility and recognition of their contribution to the global art scene" and adds that "the selected ones reflect the cultural richness and creative diversity of their places of origin. We want Focus Latam to become a celebration of new contemporary Hispanic American art".
Despite the arrival of this new section, UVNT Art Fair remains true to its DNA and will once again feature a Public Art Program throughout the capital (urban sculpture and digital art throughout the city). For the youngest, the Young Galleries program will feature the presence of the galleries Enari Gallery (Amsterdam), Espacio Derivado (Seville), Stain Projects (Palma de Mallorca) and Marchante Arte Contemporáneo (Mexico City), which also participates in Focus Latam. The Mahou space will host the UVNT Mahou Talks .
Other sponsors of the fair are Lexus, which sponsors the UVNT 2025 Public Art Program (presenting its LBX model together with artist Andrés Izquierdo), Absolut (The Other Half project by artist Àngel Toren), Create, Sanz i Vila, Natuzzi, Filmin, Ocean Drive Madrid, among others.
Sergio Sancho, founder and director of UVNT Art Fair
The founder and director of UVNT Art Fair, Sergio Sancho (Madrid, 1978), left the world of advertising, where he was a manager, and created UVNT Art Fair as a response from a collector who could not find the art he was interested in in Spain. Linked to the world of collecting and skateboarding , the iconography of the most transgressive art awakened in Sancho a passion that, little by little, he fed with other disciplines. It must be said that Sancho has managed to position this fair as one of the essential events of Madrid Art Week.
It should be remembered that in the summer of 2022, Sancho presented a new initiative, CAN (Contemporary Art Now) , a new international fair in Ibiza. In its first edition it brought together 36 galleries from 13 different countries. It is currently working on its fourth edition, which will take place on the Pitiùsa Island from June 25 to 29, 2025.
On the other hand, the fair, through Urvanity Projects , develops actions throughout the year that bring art closer to society, curating artists to intervene in different areas of the cities, organizing activities in universities and companies, generating curatorial programs, etc.
