Tomorrow, Sunday, February 9, the second season of the podcast INCLASSIFICABLES , presented by Ricard Planas and David Escamilla , premieres its tenth episode on the 3CAT (Catalunya Ràdio) platform. In this episode, they will talk with the unclassifiable Rafa Tormo , visual artist, curator and cultural manager, and with Aida Boix Grau , director of Lo Pati - Centre d'Ar t, with whom they will share reflections and future challenges. In addition, for the first time, the episode will have a live audience, young students from the Amposta School of Art and Design (ESARDI).
Rafa Tormo, with a career that dates back to the 1980s, questions official discourses and claims a hybrid space free of labels. He believes that any creation made in the present can be contemporary, but does this justify its artistic value? He reflects on post-contemporaneity and defends that art must disturb and explore new territories, moving away from comfort.
For her part, Aida Boix Grau will talk to us about the work of Lo Pati as a bridge between the territory and the international art scene. The center is committed to emerging and consolidated creators, making art reach beyond Amposta and link it to the community. How can a center be managed in a peripheral territory without losing projection?
In this sense, Lo Pati is the first center in the Network of Art Centers of Catalonia to manage its own artist residency, claiming these spaces as places of research and experimentation, giving value to the creative process beyond the production of work.
An episode that invites reflection and raises essential questions about the future of art. What role should creative freedom play in today's world? Is it possible to find a balance between social criticism and artistic expression?
