Joan Fontcuberta: Post-photography as a questioning of imposed truths
bonart granollers - 09/01/25

Next Sunday, January 12, the second season of the podcast INCLASSIFICABLES , presented by Ricard Planas and David Escamilla , premieres its ninth episode on the 3CAT (Catalunya Ràdio) platform. In this episode, they will talk from the Granollers Museum with director Glòria Fusté , to reflect on the new functions of the museum, and with the unclassifiable post-photographer Joan Fontcuberta , a critical creator in constant vigilance of the mechanisms of power.

What is truth? What role do images play in constructing our perception of the world? These are some of the questions that arise in this episode, where Joan Fontcuberta, a key figure in contemporary art, uses humor and wit to transform photography into a critical tool capable of questioning the mechanisms of power that impose their own truths. The post-photographer, as he defines himself, stands out for challenging the dogmas of disciplines as diverse as science, religion, technology or journalism, and invites us to rethink not only the nature of images, but also the role they play in a society saturated with visual representations.

For her part, Glòria Fusté, within the framework of the reopening of the Granollers Museum, will reflect on the new functions of museums: how can they become spaces for meeting and critical thinking in an increasingly polarized society?

A conversation that will explore the role of art as a tool of resistance, the transformation of cultural institutions and how media manipulation contributes to the growing discredit of journalism.
