The Fundació Úniques de Barcelona inaugurated at the end of December 'Con Fe y Sacrificio', a proposal by the artist Andrea Léria Oses that explores the complexity of female identities subjected to social control and domesticity. Beyond the homage to her grandmother, Montserrat Bores Sans, this exhibition invites us to reflect on the silenced lives of women throughout history.
Léria Oses, born in Barcelona in 1980 and with a childhood between Chile and England, recovered the relationship with her grandmother in adulthood, sharing an intimate process of reconstructing family memories. The discovery of family documents related to the Falange Social Service was the starting point for this work, which was awarded a Special Mention at the ENAIRE Foundation's Contemporary Art Biennial .

'Con Fe y Sacrificio' opens a dialogue between individual and collective memory, proposing a symbolic reappropriation of the past. The phrase that titles the exhibition, taken from the passports of the Falange, is a powerful metaphor for identities subjected to discourses of power and control. By transforming familiar documents into poetic devices, the artist questions the border between public and private, the visible and what has been silenced.
In parallel with the exhibition, Léria Oses will energize a laboratory where she invites women to share their experiences, memories and reflections on topics such as home, family, desires and personal resistances, fostering intergenerational dialogue and providing a space for the reconfiguration of memory. In this way, the artist not only reconstructs the interior landscape of her grandmother, but also that of many other women of her generation.
With its mission to promote contemporary female art, the Fundació Úniques positions itself as a key space for the dissemination of the work of female artists from the Catalan Countries, with the aim of giving visibility and promoting collecting for the preservation of female art locally and internationally.
