The Bòlit Centre for Contemporary Art in Girona , articulates the new season through exhibitions focused on city models in times of climate crisis, life on the urban margins, the Ter River and the career of the artist Pere Noguera. The proposals raise a reflection on the relationship between the urban and natural environment, exploring new visions of the city in a context of global change.
The exhibition 'Brutal/Feral: Architectures of Survival', which will be presented in February 2025, will delve into the exploration of the sustainability and habitability of cities in a context of climate crisis, highlighting how traditional urban models can come into tension with new forms of ecosystem architecture. Curated by Andrés Hispano and Ingrid Guardiola , the exhibition will feature the participation of Marcel·lí Antúnez, Marta Bisbal, Albert Coma, ISSA (Island of Social Autonomy), Laura Lío, Dani Montlleó and Txema Salvans , and will reflect on the margins of the city, those spaces that are on the border between urbanism and nature, trying to answer the question of what models of city we want to build in the face of the environmental and social degradation that threatens us.
This exploration of life on the banks will also be evident in the proposal 'Returning water to the river', by Marta R. Chust and Roc Domingo . This exhibition, which will also be inaugurated in February 2025, will conclude a three-year educational project with the collaboration of students from the Escola Carme Auguet and Cultural Rizoma , and will delve into the relationship between humans and the Ter River, offering a community vision of a territory that has often been forgotten by urban development.

In May 2025, the Bòlit will present another of its outstanding projects in the program: 'Bòlit mentor: fer vida als marges', curated by Glòria Polls . This proposal, which shares some of the questions raised in Brutal/Feral, will feature the participation of three artists who explore, each from their own perspective, the complexities of bordering spaces. On the one hand, Jonàs Forchini , with 'La línia de la superfície', will take his artistic research to the Banyoles lake, exploring this aquatic environment as a living and symbolic space. Aitor Climent , with 'Cantonades ermes', will highlight the residual areas close to urban areas, claiming their potential. Finally, Ona Trepat, with 'Fressar el riu', will offer a poetic and material review of the banks of the Ter river, linking them with the tradition of craftsmanship and its capacity to generate new narratives.
In June, Bòlit_LaRambla and Bòlit_StNicolau will dedicate a major exhibition to Pere Noguera , which will be one of the pillars of the season. 'Pere Noguera: Actions, footprints, images and drifts' will offer a retrospective of his artistic career, with a special focus on his link to performance and his unpublished work. This project will be carried out in collaboration with other institutions such as the Filmoteca de Catalunya , the Terracotta Museu and the Fundació Vila Casas , and will be one of the most outstanding exhibitions of the year. This major exhibition will be part of a broader project that, among other initiatives, has generated visibility for the artist through the involvement of various institutions, contributing to the consolidation of his figure within contemporary art.

In July, with the provisional title of 'Casa de Fang', an initiative will be launched in Bòlit_PouRodó led by Camila Sanjinés with the support and mentorship of Provi Casals and the active participation of the group of Women of Sant Narcís , the Cultural Association La Volta and La Incòmoda . This proposal is not only a creative exercise, but also a space for collective exploration that will question the role of cultural institutions within contemporary society.
As for the artistic residency program, it is being redesigned to give more prominence to local initiatives. From 2025, the residencies will focus on exploring the cultural and natural wealth of the Girona territory, collaborating with spaces such as Sant Martí d'Empúries , the Rizoma Festival and the Pepe Baena Gallery . In addition, Bòlit Mentor will incorporate a new exhibition venue at the Darder Museum in Banyoles , with the aim of involving young people in artistic creation through collaborative processes on topics such as peripheral areas and the environment.
Finally, the Bòlit promotes Pioneres de l'art de Girona , a pedagogical project to give visibility to female artists in the region. Available from September 2025, it will include materials for schools, contributing to the recovery of the female legacy in art and reaffirming the Bòlit's commitment to equality, inclusion and reflection on memory and sustainability.
