The contemporary artist from Girona Rosa Brugat i Batlle (La Jonquera, 1956) presented her new video creation on December 17th as part of the temporary exhibition entitled 'New Logics: Art and Archive' at the Archive of the Real Chancillería in Valladolid . Brugat's video art combines striking images with a profound narrative that reflects while exploring themes such as landscape, memory, etc. According to Brugat, "the video art refers to the passage of the Polar Star to the GPS and my source of inspiration is an old pictorial sketch about a dispute in the Doña Ana Valley, in Fuentesaúco, from the 18th century", and explains that "on this estate, around 1763, there was a dispute due to disagreement over the distribution of land, and it is assumed that the fight was determined by a hydraulic mill that was used for irrigation, as well as for grinding grain".
The artist from Girona invites the viewer to take a journey through time across the Iberian Peninsula horizontally, starting from Girona and ending in the Vall de Doña Ana in Fuentesaúco (Zamora). The video art, recorded along Brugat's journey, shows the ancient Roman roads, historical paths and abandoned railway tracks that have remained as silent witnesses to the passage of time. Through these scenarios, the artist explores the conflicts, struggles, losses and achievements that have left their mark on these places. This journey also becomes an introspective process in which Brugat connects with the energies that permeate each place and lets these spaces tell us their own stories.

One of the most innovative elements of the work is the use of artificial intelligence to give voice to the narrative soul that is the Finito bull. This symbolic figure, with a powerful and disturbing presence, is presented as a bloodied animal that carries the weight of the contradictions and historical conflicts of the territory. Through its voice generated with AI, Brugat manages to make the animal transmit a perspective that transcends physical reality and invites reflection on collective memory, the transformation of the landscape and the connection with the roots.
In parallel with this project, the temporary exhibition, which can be visited until April 17, has had the participation of other artists such as Leopoldo Emperador, Isabel Fuentes, Concha Gay, Carmen Madreñarroja, Antonio Navarro and Gloria Reguero .
