Anna Pascó Boltà (Barcelona, 1990) has won the second edition of the Ricard Camí Biennial of Visual Arts with a vision committed to environmental challenges, using art as a tool for reflection and transformation. An artist with an international career, she holds a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona and the Akademie der Bildenden Künste München, and has participated in exhibitions and residencies around the world. Her work, which combines scientific research and artistic creation, has been recognized with numerous awards and grants, consolidating her as a prominent figure in contemporary art with a deep commitment to environmental issues.

Through an artistic installation, the project 'Every stone is a mountain in the making' connects the public with the deep ocean ecosystems, highlighting their fragility and the dangers arising from marine mining, human activities and climate change. Inspired by the thought of Roger Caillois and the concept of mimesis, Pascó explores how organisms – including humans – dissolve in the world through language, movement and form. This idea materialises in a call to recognise the interdependence between living beings, technologies and the natural environment. The work also addresses the archaeology of technological means in an interdisciplinary way, showing that these arise from natural resources that also leave a mark on our planet.

The jury of this edition, formed by Montse Badia (art critic and editor of A*DESK), Natàlia Chocarro (art critic and art advisor of the Vila Casas Foundation), Antonio Ortega (artist and teacher), Stella Rahola (artist and winner of the last edition of the Biennial), Ricard Planas (editor of bonart and director of the Lluís Coromina Foundation) and Belén Latorre (director of the Antigues Caixes Catalanes Foundation), has unanimously highlighted the conceptual solidity of the project. They have particularly valued how it merges art, biology, geology and technology to explore the connections between marine ecosystems and human activities. The artistic installation uses visual, sound and interactive materials to raise awareness of the irreversible effects of our activities, while promoting a renewed vision of sustainability and the care of biodiversity.

The competition has awarded Anna Pascó Boltà a prize of 3,000 euros, in addition to 2,000 euros for the production of the project, which will be exhibited at the Espai Isern Dalmau of the Lluís Coromina Foundation in September 2025. In addition, three finalist projects have received 300 euros each and will also be included in the exhibition: 'Patrona IV' by Lali Martín , 'Ecoanxiety' by Miquel Garcia and 'Things happen all the time' by Abril Witty .

Co-organized by the Fundació Antigues Caixes Catalanes , the Fundació Lluís Coromina and bonart cultural , and with the seal of good practices from the PAAC , the Ricard Camí Visual Arts Biennial reaffirms for the second year its commitment to promoting projects that combine art and social values . With a total of 31 proposals presented, this initiative seeks to stimulate creation in any discipline of the visual arts –painting, sculpture, photography, drawing/engraving, video art, installation and sound– and encourages the presentation of projects that address themes such as sustainability, the impact of climate change, responsible production and consumption and affordable and non-polluting energy.
