Next Sunday, December 15, the second season of the INCLASSIFICABLES podcast, presented by Ricard Planas and David Escamilla , premieres its seventh episode on the 3CAT (Catalunya Ràdio) platform. In this chapter, they will talk from the Salvador Dalí Theatre-Museum (Figures) with the unclassifiable artist Rosa Tharrats, creator of installations that generate dialogues.
Rosa Tharrats is an artist who has worked in the world of fashion, has designed costumes for filmmakers such as Albert Serra, and little by little has made textiles a means of expression. Through textile sculptures, installations and projects linked to nature, his work explores the interconnection between materials, people and landscapes. But, beyond the form, there is a deep reflection on the process of transformation, both physical and inner. What does it mean to transform a material or a space? And how does this transformation affect our own experience?
Sustainability also plays a central role in the work of Tharrats, who has been incorporating recycled materials into his work. What creative potential do materials that we often consider waste hide?
From Catalan textile traditions to the increasing presence of this material in contemporary art and in international events such as the Venice Biennale, textiles have ceased to be just a support to become an artistic language in itself and the works of Tharrats are an example.
This episode of INCLASSIFICABLES highlights the convergence between creativity, sustainability and transformation, redefining the meaning of textile art and opening new paths of dialogue between materials and nature.
