The SETBA Award is consolidated for another year as a cultural and inclusive benchmark, recognizing the artistic expression of people with intellectual disabilities. The 2025 edition is the 15th anniversary of the contest and comes again to make talent visible, and to promote accessibility and active participation in the world of art. Coinciding with the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, last December 3, the bases for this edition were published, highlighting the desire to link art and inclusion.
This competition, considered the most well-endowed in Spain, offers three artistic prizes with an endowment of €8,500 in financial prizes and €4,600 in materials and training. A fourth design prize will also be awarded, sponsored by Bardinet , to create a new label for the wine Lacrima Baccus, DO Penedès.
This year, the contest incorporates two novelties: the Magistrals 2026 project, which will provide artistic training to participating entities, and the Pigment Gallery Acquisition Award , which will include one of the selected works in its permanent collection.
The call, open until April 10, 2025 , is aimed at over-age artists with a minimum of 33% intellectual disability, linked to non-profit organizations in Catalonia. Participants must present works of free technique in vertical format (70x50 cm). The results of the competition will be announced in October 2025, in a ceremony at CaixaForum Barcelona.
The winners will be chosen by a jury made up of recognized professionals from the world of art and culture: Mònica Ramon , director of the Artur Ramon gallery and vice-president of the Art Gallery Association of Catalonia; Cristina Sampere , director of the Setba Foundation; José Manuel Jaurena , manager of Art Mir; Montse Sampietro , from the Culture and Science Activities Department of the "la Caixa" Foundation; and Adrià Rosendo , co-founder of Artesta.
