Arranz-Bravo: Enjoy life, if you can!

The work of Eduard Arranz-Bravo is a visceral reflection of a way of understanding the world, and this is what the exhibition Arranz-Bravo: Enjoy life, if you can!, which is inaugurated yesterday, November 28, at the Arranz-Bravo Foundation.

Curated by Pilar Parcerisas , the exhibition aims to be a deep story that connects the artist with the space that saw him grow as a creator: his home and studio in Vallvidrera. This environment, designed by the architect Lanfranco Bombelli ii and later complemented by the Garcés-De Seta-Bonet studio , was not only a physical place, but a symbolic extension of its emotional geography. In this context, the Arranz-Bravo Foundation pays tribute to the artist on the first anniversary of his death, establishing a dialogue between his work and his life.

Arranz-Bravo's words collected in the book Des de dins, by Jordi Garrido , perfectly encapsulate the spirit of the exhibition, highlighting that life and art are inseparable. This idea is strongly materialized through two central disciplines in his production: drawing and sculpture, where the most primal drives and the deepest reflections of the artist can be appreciated.

Drawing occupies an essential place in the exhibition, with 74 pieces that embrace a wide spectrum of his career, from the 60s to the 'Eddie Loves' series of 2020. In these works, Arranz-Bravo built narratives that reflected the tensions, emotions and thoughts that defined him. Through drawing, the artist explored his personal universe with a grammar that, despite evolving, never lost its uniqueness.

On the other hand, the sculpture reveals a more raw and essential facet of his work. Taken from his home and garden, the pieces chosen show the artist's direct connection with nature and the everyday environment. His sculptures are, in essence, part of his process of understanding the world and himself.

The exhibition, which can be visited until February, shows the spirit of Arranz-Bravo and his way of living intensely, a genuine way to pay tribute to him.
