Next Sunday, November 17, the second season of the INCLASSIFICABLES podcast, presented by Ricard Planas and David Escamilla , premieres its fifth episode on the 3CAT (Catalunya Ràdio) platform. In this chapter, from the MACBA atrium, they will talk with the unclassifiable creator Lúa Coderch , in search of the multiple dimensions of vital meaning, and with Elvira Dyangani Ose , current director of the MACBA, a museum celebrating its 30th anniversary with many challenges ahead.
What does it mean to be unclassifiable in a world that often seeks to label everything? This is one of the questions that Lúa Coderch, conceptual and aesthetic creator, with an international career and training in law, sculpture and fine arts, raises in her works. His artistic research breaks down the barriers of traditional thought, proposing a vision of reality as a changing perception. Lúa has turned language into one of her main instruments of reflection, exploring concepts such as sincerity, value and disorientation. This perspective, which approaches the present as a constant indeterminacy, connects with Elvira Dyangani Ose's reflections on the role of museums in contemporary society.
Dyangani Ose, director of the MACBA, takes advantage of the museum's 30-year history to question modernity as a fixed construction of identity. With a view that favors plurality, it defends a museum that not only preserves history, but constantly transforms images, stories and established ideas. In what way can museums give way to new narratives? And at the same time, what role does art play in the creation of alternative realities?
This episode of INCALSSIFICABLES invites us to reflect on how art questions our perception of the world, transforms our personal and social narratives, and inspires us to imagine a more open and plural future.
