Next weekend, the National Theater of Catalonia will be the epicenter of the Fujifilm European Photography Festival . The Fujikina , under the slogan 'More than Full Frame', is a photographic exhibition and a celebration of the art of the image, where the documentary merges with the conceptual, the portrait with the fashion film, and nature photography with critical narratives.
There is no festival without big names. This edition of Fujikina will feature figures such as the British Martin Parr , known for his critical and humorous vision of contemporary society. His work, with more than 100 published books and exhibitions around the world, from the MOMA to the Tate or the Pompidou, is quite a visual manifesto that portrays the world with a unique perspective. His career as a member and former president of the Magnum agency highlights his influence on the recent history of photography.
The Spanish Cristina de Middel , current president of Magnum, is another key piece in the Fujikina program. Recognized for her innovation and unique approach, she mixes documentary with fiction to question the concept of "truth" in images. With projects like 'The Afronauts', de Middel has won the admiration and awards of the sector, being one of the most outstanding Spanish photographers. His recent work explores cultural and political issues that force us to rethink the world around us.

This year's poster also includes other photographers from Spain, such as Eugenio Recuenco , who presents himself as an artist of multiple disciplines, with works that range from fashion to advertising, and with his colossal work '365º' , which is both a series of photographs and an avant-garde installation. There is also Álvaro Sanz , who combines photography and film to capture the two passions of his life: nature and music, and who recently co-founded Eldorado Outdoor Creative Agency.
Activist and portrait photographer Estela de Castro comes with her work committed to human and animal rights, including her shocking project 'Los animales'. Salva López , specialized in portraits and editorial work, will bring his international perspective after working for media such as The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times.
As for the Catalan representation at Fujikina, it is more than remarkable, with professionals such as Joan Vendrell, Pilar Silvestre, Nicanor García, Rita Puig-Serra, Jordi Renart and Laura Núñez . With styles that span from travel photography to street photography, these artists will share their vision and experience with the public in a series of talks, presentations and walks around Barcelona with Fujifilm photographic equipment.
