A total of 109 artists exhibited their works at the 59th edition of the Girona Drawing and Painting Fair, organized last November 1 by the Fundació Llibreria Les Voltes de Girona in Plaça del Vi, La Pujada del Pont de Pedra, Rambla Verdaguer, Rambla de la Llibertat and Plaça Catalunya in Girona. On the eve of the fair's 60th anniversary, which will be celebrated next year, the organizers of the Les Voltes Foundation say that "our task is to keep pushing to bring the country where it needs to be, and the Drawing Fair and the Pintura de Girona is today the most important in the country in its field". The organizers also emphasize the rejuvenation of the participating artists, a fact that began to be noticed a couple of years ago, as the contest gathers more and more young artists who mix with the most veteran ones, some of whom are over eighty years

With regard to the novelties of this edition, it is worth noting two performances scheduled in Plaça del Vi to energize the space: one in the morning and another in the afternoon. At 12:00 p.m., the Barcelona painter Antonio Ramos, artistically known as Ramat, did a live painting performance to the rhythm of the music that accompanied the castellers, to whom he paid tribute. At half past seven in the afternoon, the young Barcelona musician Rick brought his music to the stage in the square, in his first performance in Girona.

As for the edition of the magazine of the Fundació Llibreria Les Voltes, this year it includes an X-ray of five municipalities in the regions of Girona that are very active in the artistic field: Girona, Banyoles, Blanes, Olot and Torroella de Montgrí. The Foundation also wanted to pay tribute to the Escola pictórica d'Olot, and both the cover of the magazine and the poster for the Fira del Dibuix i la Pintura have been commissioned from Ramon Duran Font, one of the most illustrious representatives of the Olotine school. Parallel to the fair, the Antiques and Flea Market-Market was held, the artisanal food fair and various concerts and events that combined leisure with culture.
