Since last September 13, Girona has hosted the Temporada Alta Festival, which this year will last until December 8, 2024. The festival has a total of 110 shows, 13 more than last year, and includes 23 shows internationals that will act as reinforcements. For his part, the director of the festival, Salvador Sunyer, has affirmed that this edition is the one with "longer duration and more shows", as it has more international presence. As a highlight, we must highlight the performance of Fura dels Baus , which opened the festival and performed Carmina Burana at the Girona Auditorium, co-organized with Ibercamera. La Fura dels Baus brought a fast-paced staging of the renowned musical work of the composer Carl Orff , based on medieval chants, with shocking scenes, special effects and images projected around a group of performers and an orchestra.
With regard to the musical program, among the group of artists who will pass through Girona and Salt, the internationals Marisa Monte stand out, exceptional Brazilian performer and composer and iconic figure in the music of her country; Jeff Mills , the emblematic American DJ representative of underground electronic music; Scott Bradlee's Postmodern Jukebox , the energetic band from the USA that covers today's pop hits with the classic sounds of the best musicians of the first half of the 20th century; and Soweto Gospel Choir , a group that uniquely and inspiringly represents the power of African gospel music. These artists will join the performances of Guillem Gisbert , ex-leader of Manel who presents his first solo album; Sílvia Pérez Cruz , who will perform accompanied by the prestigious Argentinian guitarist Juan Falú ; the Mallorcan singer-songwriter Maika Makovski , who will perform the songs from her new album not yet presented (concert co-organized with the Neu Festival); Mushkaa , artist revelation of the new urban music in Catalan; Gio Symphonia , which will pay tribute to composer Steve Reich; and Joan Colomo , one of the most unique, prolific and surprising Catalan singer-songwriters on the current scene, who recently released a new album.

Family and theater proposals
Within the family and theater programming, there are three family shows that have been three of the great historical achievements of family programming in the history of Temporada Alta. One of these is Slava's Snowshow, the great show of the emblematic Russian clown Slava Polunin , who returns to the Teatre Municipal de Girona, after 6 years, to offer a fun snow show, fun and many imaginative surprises. Also returning to Temporada Alta is El Petit Príncep, the successful and multi-award-winning family musical by Àngel Llàcer and Manu Guix , based on the legendary story by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, after 10 years of success filling theaters throughout Catalonia . Finally, El Pot Petit, which, in the previous edition, led the little family theater day at Fira de Girona, will present its new show for all audiences at Temporada Alta. Within the theatrical offer, the festival's programming will also include the show Operetta, by Cor de Teatre , a show that humorously adapts some of the best-known themes in the history of opera, and La disputa, the new show directed and starring Josep Maria Flotats , which stages an intellectual battle between two of the most important philosophers of the 18th century: Voltaire and Rousseau.

Isabel Banal, creator of the 2024 poster
As for the Temporada Alta Festival poster, this year it was created by the renowned plastic artist Isabel Banal (Castellfollit de la Roca, 1963). His work derives from a series of photographic works in which the artist relates elements of nature and everyday life to his body. In this case, place a water drum at the height of the head, as a mask, to challenge, aware of the times we live in climate change and drought, about the loss of the sacred value of water and how it has become another consumer item.
In this way, Isabel Banal joins an extensive list of personalities who have collaborated with the festival in the creation of the poster, such as Antoni Tàpies, Cristina de Middel, Carlos Santos, Carmen Calvo, Joan Fontcuberta, Eugenia Valldosera, Narcís Comadira, Eugenia Balcells, Frederic Amat, Carme Sanglas, Enric Pladevall or Ferran Adrià , among others. On the other hand, the short presentation of the festival will be starred by Oriol Pla , who will also present, in this edition, his new show as creator: Garganta. Under the audiovisual direction of Salvador Sunyer and Vidal , author of the first shorts of the festival, this new artistic team takes over from Albert Serra and Isaki Lacuesta , directors of the shorts of the last editions.
