Since last Saturday, October 19, you can visit the anthological exhibition of the renowned artist Lluís Roura (Sant Miquel de Campmajor, 1943), "Lluís Roura, 80 years of memories", at the Casa de la Cultura de la Diputació de Girona . The book Lluís Roura, 80 years of memories, was also presented, in which the artist recalls moments and experiences lived over the course of eight decades. This event was attended by the vice-president and deputy of the Diputació de Girona, Gemma Geis; the honored artist, Lluís Roura; the lawyer and presenter of the event, Ramon Turon; the curator of the exhibition "Lluís Roura, 80 years of memories", Jordi Roura; the forensic scientist and pediatrician, Narcís Bardalet; violinist Irene Turon; Senator Francesc Xavier Ten; the mayor of l'Escala and deputy of the Provincial Council of Girona, Josep Bofill; the mayor of Sant Miquel de Campmajor, Josep Oriol Serrà; and the secretary of Territory, Urbanism and Urban Agenda of the Generalitat of Catalonia, Víctor Puga. The tribute ceremony was also attended by the 126th president of the Generalitat de Catalunya, Jordi Pujol.
As for the temporary sample, this has a duration of two months. On the ground floor, visitors can enjoy the main exhibition, which offers a journey through the most significant creative stages of Lluís Roura, from his beginnings — the first years as a painter in La Casota, Barcelona and, finally, the Empordà— to the most recent works. In the courtyard there is a representation of some of the large-scale sculptures made by the artist, while on the first floor you can visit a complementary display of photographs by Roura, illustrated by various poets. The exhibition hall on the first floor contains the most emblematic photographs taken by the Catalan landscape artist himself and which have been seen on more than one occasion in the El Temps de Televisió de Catalunya space.
Lluís Roura, versatile and self-taught artist

In the beginning, he took two drawing courses at the Llotja in Barcelona and received advice from the painters Fèlix Revello de Toro, Frederic Marés, Joan de Palau and Mossèn Joan Prat, who gave him art history lessons. From 1967 to 1981 he participated in numerous painting competitions throughout Spain. In 1970 he held his first solo exhibition in Vic, and since then his work has been exhibited in approximately one hundred exhibitions throughout the state. He has also exhibited in Venezuela, Switzerland, Pertús and Cabestany, Vienna, Miami, Saint Petersburg and Brussels.
