Berta Paco Sánchez: from body to soul

Cora Egger's Atelier, located at Carrer Sant Pere Més Alt, 48 in Barcelona, hosts 'From the body to the soul', an exhibition of paintings by the artist Berta Paco Sánchez.

This exhibition is held in the framework of a space that fuses art and therapy, under the direction of Cora Egger, pioneer in Barcelona of art therapy techniques centered on the image (PCI) and solution-oriented painting (LOM).

In addition to his teaching work, Egger directs the training of these methodologies in Spain, inspired by his mother, Bettina Egger, and Jörg Merz, under the auspices of the FARBE institute. In the Atelier's facilities, which include a large exhibition hall, workshops are held for both children and adults, in addition to intensive training in humanistic art therapy. It is a center of creation and learning and a meeting point for artists who explore their inner worlds through art. It is in this context that the work of Berta Paco finds its ideal place.

Berta Paco's work is a journey between body and soul, a window open to her emotions and reflections. When the artist affirms, with a touch of irony and following Kandinsky's dictation and Miró's advice, that "her painting says what it wants and she only obeys it", she is in tune with the principles of the methodologies LOM and PCI. However, his artistic practice goes beyond theories, letting his own experiences flow, in an intimate and spontaneous expression.

This exhibition, perhaps one of the most coherent thematically in Berta Paco's career, maintains its expressionist essence, a style from which it will never be detached. His painting, loaded with meanings, invites you to explore the deep traces of the soul through the movement of the body.
