The new season begins with 'AZzabalik, around artistic creation', a day that opens the doors to contemporary production and the work of more than thirty artists, both local and international. The space chosen for this meeting is Lantegia, the laboratory of ideas, designed for experimentation and creativity, where new artistic proposals can develop and evolve in contact with the public.
Throughout today's day, as a starting point for this new season, several performative actions related to the active projects will take place, which include 'Entelechy' and 'Lifespan', two of the pieces in the exhibition of 'Allora & Calzadilla, as well as the textile sculptures of the artist Elena Aitzkoa, among others.
This new 2024-2025 season offers a wide range of activities for all audiences, with more than 150 proposals that embrace various forms of artistic expression. The program includes exhibitions, performing arts, international festivals and film cycles, turning Azkuna Zentroa into a reference space for the development of cultural projects that dialogue with society. In addition, the center maintains its commitment to a critical and reflective culture, where art becomes a vehicle for the understanding and transformation of contemporary reality.
One of the fundamental pillars of Azkuna Zentroa is its creative support programs, which include initiatives such as Babestu and Lanean. These programs offer artists and creators a framework where they can research, develop and produce new works within the disciplines of visual arts, performing arts, film, audiovisual and literature. This support not only facilitates the personal growth of artists, but also encourages innovation and creative risk-taking.
The new season also has a group of associated artists, among which are creators such as Elena Aitzkoa, Lore Stessel, Amaia Molinet, Idoia Zabaleta, the company Ça Marche and Olatz de Andrés. This set of professionals brings a great diversity of perspectives and styles, contributing to make Azkuna Zentroa a living and constantly evolving space. At the same time, associated researchers such as Ixiar Rozas and Rosa Casado enrich the program with their reflective work, opening new ways of thinking in relation to artistic creation.
In addition, the center collaborates with resident groups such as Urbanbat, a group that works on projects that combine art, architecture and urban planning, with the aim of transforming public space and making it more inclusive and participatory.

Azkuna Zentroa's connection to the international art scene is reinforced with two cross residencies. On the one hand, the International Comic Residency, in collaboration with the Cité Internationale de la Bande Dessinée d'Angoulême and the Maison de la Littérature de Quebec, offers artists the opportunity to develop projects related to comics and visual literature. On the other hand, the new International Live Arts Residency, in collaboration with L'Abri de Ginebra, promotes the exchange of knowledge and experiences between artists from these two centers.
Lantegia, the center's creation laboratory, continues to be a key axis in Azkuna Zentroa's mission to become a place of professionalization and development for the cultural and creative industries. This space of high artistic performance is a cradle of ideas where innovation, prototyping and experimentation with new forms of contemporary creation are encouraged.
Thus, Azkuna Zentroa reaffirms its commitment to artistic creation and its role as a cultural reference, with the aim of continuing to build a creative and integrative community, both locally and internationally.
