'Love Affaire' immerses us in the plastic universe of the Icelandic creator Kristinn Nicolai, where the human body, desire and symbolism emerge strongly through his style. Born in Reykjavík, Nicolai has taken his work around the world, with exhibitions in cities such as Paris, Beijing, Madrid and his native Iceland. His artistic language combines meticulous technique with deep research into the great themes that cross the human condition. His first contact with art was influenced by his uncle, the painter Oddur Steinthórsson, who marked him from a young age.

This new exhibition, available at the Miguel Marcos Gallery until October 31, offers us an intense reflection on obsession, passion and the materiality of the body, using sexuality as a metaphor for the creative process. For Nicolai, the intimate act symbolizes the most authentic moment of existence, a point where creation and destruction merge. His strokes, energetic and full of dynamism, raise questions about the human being, establishing a continuous dialogue between the work and the viewer.

Sex acts as a common thread throughout the exhibition, an element with which the artist explores the essence of uncontrollable desire and the vulnerability of the body. In his creations, the sexual act transcends simple physics to become a means of exploring the creative power of life, blurring the boundaries between the sacred and the earthly.

The female body, perceived by the artist as a source of life and object of study, is also one of the central motifs of his work. His work, provocative and suggestive, not only questions, but also invites you to confront your own subconscious.

In addition, the exhibition includes portraits where the human face becomes the protagonist. For Nicolai, the face—and especially the eyes—is the window to the deepest emotions, revealing what words cannot express. Through these portraits, the artist delves into the emotional layers of his subjects, going far beyond their outward appearance.

'Love Affaire' does not only seek to seduce the senses, but invites us to reflect on our own vision of desire, the body and identity.
