The building of the territorial services of Culture in Girona hosted on July 24 the presentation of the new developments that will be carried out at the Museu de la Terrissa de Quart from the last quarter of this 2024. The presentation also served to take stock of the actions carried out since November 2023, when this museum facility dedicated to the preservation and dissemination of earthenware, reopened its doors.

The Museu de la Terrissa is preparing for the 2024-2025 school year with various performances, activities and exhibitions that aim to make known and highlight the world of the municipality's earthenware. One of the most outstanding is the creation of the "Q-Art. We are Culture!”, which will offer advantages in cultural events and free entry to the Museu de la Terrissa to residents of Quart. This card will be available from the quarter of this 2024.

The program for the first term of 2024-2025 will include six courses for all ages and three exhibitions of various themes. Two courses will be for children and young people aged 8 to 15, focusing on clay sculpture and the initiation of working with the wheel. A third will be about the oriental ceramic technique, Raku, aimed at people over 16 years old. The Association of Artisan Potters of Quart will organize three courses for adults, two introductory to working with the wheel and one follow-up.

Regarding exhibitions, Ceramistes and Aleix Font will be held from September to November, an exhibition organized by the Associació de Terrassers with the collaboration of this ceramist. And, from the end of November until the month of January, two more will be exhibited: Provi Casals, an exhibition by this ceramist artist from the Girona area, and Exhibition of the UE Quart football association, a historical retrospective of this entity since its inception, in 2023.

The mayor of Quart City Council, Ferran Rodero, took part in the event; the director of the Bonart magazine, Ricard Planas, the secretary of the Association of Artisan Potters of Quart, Quim Cufí and the artist Aleix Font. All the participants in the event are members of the Advisory Board of the Terrissa Museum, a consulting body made up of prominent experts in art, culture and museums whose main objective is to define the strategic roadmap to consolidate the museum as a benchmark .

Ferran Rodero, mayor of Quart, has remarked that the project has been considered for the long term "The Advisory Board has been created, which will look after the present and future of the museum". Claiming the role of the potters and their importance in the local context, Quim Cufí expressed that "The craft is still alive, there are active potters in Quart, and the potters are claiming the museum. We feel satisfied because the museum is open, and it has a management behind it that foresees an optimistic future. In this new path created, the potters of Quart feel that we are part of it."

For his part, Ricard Planas emphasized that, when it came to structuring the museum and seeing what actions could be taken there, "it was decided to divide it conceptually and physically into two spaces: the permanent exhibition, which from next year, renovations will be carried out, and a temporary exhibition hall, where valuable exhibitions will be hosted.
