The cultural manager Berta Sureda dies leaving a long history of commitment to the sector and especially to creators

In 2015 she was appointed Commissioner of Culture in Barcelona after living in Madrid for seven years working at the Reina Sofia Museum. Previously he had also directed the Autonomous Entity for Cultural Diffusion of the Generalitat where he created a support program for creators and entities, new lines of subsidies for the creation of artistic projects and gave impetus to the network of creation centers in Catalonia . The well-known art historian and cultural manager Berta Sureda Berna, who was a member of the advisory board of the Balearic Cultural Work, died on Sunday at the age of 65, as confirmed by the organization itself, in which she had been a member of the board directive and the culture commission.

Graduated in Art History in 1983 at the University of Barcelona, she has worked in Palma since 2017, when she was appointed coordinator of the Balearic Islands Culture Plan until 2027. She had also worked in the city at the Es Baluard museum.

Barcelona en Comú signed her to shake up the city's cultural scene. His experience in the city backed him up. She had been coordinator of exhibitions at the Urban Development Institute (1988), she had worked in the Cultural Olympiad (1989-1992) and in the stage activities of the Autumn Festival and the Barcelona Arts Festival.
