Piramidón, Contemporary Art Center announces its first artistic residency award: Jordi Fulla Residency Award.
The competition offers the possibility to reside, for two months, in one of the artistic workshops of Piramidón and that is accompanied by a budget for the production. Open to international plastic artists, the prize takes the name of the artist Jordi Fulla (Igualada 1967 - Igualada 2019), who was one of the first artists to occupy one of Piramidón's creative workshops, residing there between 1991 and in 2005 and leaving an indelible memory. The award aims to pay tribute to his artistic figure, legacy and creative and restless spirit.
The aim of the prize is to give contemporary plastic artists the opportunity to immerse themselves in the artistic atmosphere of Barcelona, work and reside in a studio to be able to continue developing their artistic practice or explore new forms of creation, in addition to participate in a range of cultural activities to enrich their practice and establish connections with the local and international artistic community.
Benefits of the award:
- A private studio in Piramidón Contemporary Art Center, between 70 and 120 m², with lots of natural light, the best views of Barcelona and free access 24/7. The studio is distributed between living space with kitchen and workshop.
- Up to €500 for the purchase of materials for artistic production during the residency.
- Free access to the center's library and meeting room, as well as to the terrace.
- Use of necessary tools and machinery in the centre's workshop, and support in technical tasks.
- Participation in the paellas-tertulia, monthly meetings with guests from the cultural and creative world.
- Dissemination of the artist's work and activities in the center's communication channels.
- Possibility to participate in an exhibition at the Piramidón gallery, with opening and related activities.
- Option to present an individual sample in the "Viewing Room" of the center.
The prize is aimed at visual artists of all nationalities and backgrounds.
Applicants must have held, during the last three years, an individual exhibition in an art gallery or institution.
