During the ceremony of awarding this recognition, the members of the AIA and the jury in particular, in the official speech, highlighted the innovative approach to its architecture. "The architecture of Josep Miàs is experimental and immersive. Inspired by curiosity and physical forms, her designs combine creativity and functionality. This leads people to question and experience the spaces that surround them, creating a lasting impact" adding that "The event recognizes the exceptional career of Josep Miàs and his remarkable contributions to overcome the limits of architectural design".
This prestigious recognition is added to other significant distinctions. In 2020, the Center Pompidou in Paris dedicated a monographic exhibition to MIAS Architects, acquiring 42 models, 14 drawings and 18 prints that have been exhibited in its Permanent Collection ever since. In 2021, the City of Barcelona and the Government of Catalonia, recognizing the studio's international successes, dedicated the first monographic architecture exhibition to the DHUB Museum of Architecture and Design in Barcelona.
The work of Josep Miàs is collected in the recently published monograph entitled "MIAS: The Loop Project", edited by Actar Publishers. The book includes the works designed by the studio in the last twenty-five years: published and award-winning projects, and others in progress. The jury closed the celebration with these words: "We are excited to continue our journey, inspired by the vision of Josep Miàs, to continue innovating and shaping the future of architecture."
