The Vila Casas Foundation has awarded the Antoni Vila Casas Sculpture Prize 2024 to the artist Marc Larré (Barcelona, 1978) for the work 2 arms, 3 knees, 5 hands and 12 feet (2023), a sculptural group made of plaster, mud and sand that condenses the main lines of work that the artist has developed in recent years. The jury has also awarded an entry to Ariadna Parreu (Reus, 1982) for Viró, a work that is part of her Plasma fantasma project and which aims to delve deeper into the concept of superficiality.
The winner of the first prize, Marc Larré, has been awarded €15,000 and will hold a solo exhibition in Can Framis in 2025. The two winning works will become the property of the Vila Casas Foundation.
