On April 13, the new temporary exhibition by Tomàs Pons, Univers Blau, was inaugurated at Parc dels Estanys in Platja d'Aro. This exhibition aims to show the characters of our maritime myths and legends. The exhibition refers to the ancestral characters that we have inherited and that live in our imagination.
Most of the sculptures are warriors, kings and goddesses that create our fantasy blue universe. They come to be the heroes, who since forever, fight to protect a blue planet, which unfortunately now needs help. A total of thirteen pieces make up this large-format open-air sculpture proposal, most of them made of bronze, iron or aluminum by an artist trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence and the Linz University of Design.
It should be said that Pons also combines his work as a sculpture teacher with artistic creation in his workshop and currently has works in different private collections and art foundations around the world (Italy, Thailand, the Netherlands, Switzerland, USA or South Africa).
Visiting hours to the exhibition are from Monday to Sunday from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. (June to September) and from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (October to May) and can be visited until 23 February 2025.
