Eina, University Center for Design and Art of Barcelona launches new management formed by Dra. Tània Costa, Academic Director; Dr. Sara Coscarelli, Assistant Director; and Dr. Javier Nieto Cubero, Director of Innovation and Business.
Tània Costa holds a degree and PhD in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona, with Research accreditation from the AQU. Since 2003 she has taught Bachelor's and Master's classes at Eina where she has been coordinator of Research and of the University Master's in Research in Art and Design (MURAD). She is a researcher linked to the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), coordinator of the consolidated SGR Research Group in Aesthetics and Theory of Design and Art (GRETDA) and director of doctoral theses in the philosophy department of the UAB. His academic contributions are framed in artistic and design practices that promote social innovation, from a contextual, participatory and performative point of view, covering approaches from transitional design to applied aesthetics.
Sara Coscarelli holds a PhD in Humanities from Pompeu Fabra University. Graduated in Humanities from the UAB and higher graduate in Design, specializing in interiors from Eina, where she works as the Director of Masters and Postgraduates and Internationalization. She is a researcher in the history and criticism of the design of spaces in the context of the crisis of the modern movement, the critique of contemporary space and its phenomenological aesthetics. She is a researcher linked to the UAB, a member of GRETDA, and director of doctoral theses in the philosophy department of the UAB. In Eina, she teaches the Design Degree and the University Master's in Spatial Design (MUDE), of which she is the coordinator.
Javier Nieto Cubero holds a PhD in Innovation from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) in the Business Organization Program. He is an industrial designer from the Universidad de Valladolid/Politecnico di Milano, where he studied the Master's in Transportation Design & Management. He is also a Materials Engineer for the UPC and PDD for IESE. Teacher, researcher and coordinator of the Product Mention in Eina and guest lecturer at other national and international design, architecture and business universities, at undergraduate and master's level. Senior product director with more than 20 years of experience leading strategy, design and development of new products, services and brands in different sectors, currently co-leads the strategic design agency Ovicuo Design.
