15th edition of the Justmad International Contemporary Art Fair
bonart madrid - 26/02/24

The 15th edition of the Justmad International Contemporary Art Fair will take place from March 7 to 10, at Palau Neptú in Madrid. A total of forty-four exhibitors make up the General Program, Solo Project and Just Latam, a new project that joins the fair aimed at researching galleries and artists linked to Latin America. Under the direction of Óscar García García (Madrid, 1978), Justmad continues its firm mission to publicize new gallery projects, in addition to having the presence of artists who are currently leading the contemporary art scene.

This fair, which is defined as a "discovery space", will have approximately 50% of galleries participating for the first time. Óscar García García has assured that "after fifteen years of supporting the latest trends, Justmad continues with the same illusion of surprising art lovers. During these decades the fair has proven to be an effective localizer of new values and projects. This will be a special edition where we will celebrate contemporary culture. Our challenge is to continue to be a space for learning, support and springboard for galleries and artists."

In this new edition, María Lightowler (Buenos Aires, 1979) is presented as guest curator of the Just Latam section, whose professional career is defined by having worked for more than fifteen years as a researcher, museologist and cultural manager. The proposal will be made up of galleries and artists linked to Latin America. In an expanded vision that is not limited to the physical territory, Just Latam will have the participation of galleries from countries such as Mexico, Argentina, Peru or Ecuador, to which two Latin American galleries established in Madrid will be added. After some difficult years for the sector, JUSTMAD recovers, in this edition, the important link with Latin American art; a personal bet that had always existed at the fair and that was diminished by the arrival of the pandemic.

On the other hand, Justmad will collaborate with Casa d'América in the creation of a cycle of activities within the framework of Just Latam, at its headquarters in the Palau de Linares in Madrid. Also, for the third consecutive year, it repeats its collaboration with the Ras de Terra residence, thus renewing its recognized commitment to the environment, research and artistic experimentation.
