25th anniversary of the Escala Spring Scholarship

L'Alfolí de la Sal - Museu de l'Escala will host, until April 14, the exhibition of the different works that are part of the municipal art fund, which are the result of the selected artists' stay in each of the Spring scholarships.

"It is one of the oldest artistic residency grants in Catalonia and it is worth claiming as a determined commitment to contemporary creation that has helped to position l'Escala as a place where emerging art is valued. The scholarship takes place every year at the Casa dels Forestals de Sant Martí d'Empúries, a space with unique characteristics, with a privileged landscape and historical environment, in the middle of the inspiring artistic territory that is the Empordà", remarks the councilor of Culture and Historical Heritage, Martí Guinart.

The exhibition shows different techniques and styles that define each of these 25 artists who have made this presentation possible, maintaining the common attribute dictated by the bases of this scholarship, relating the landscape, historical and human context of the environment with the project proposal submitted to the competition.

Marina Berdalet, Eric Zener, Mercè Prats, Carles Torrent, Ercam Saglam, Sergi Cambrils, Juan Ignacio Mosquera, Pepe Carretero, Olaf Quantius, Maria Fernanda Piamonti, Rosa Masdeu, Pere Bellés, Xavier Escribà, Panos Mitsopoulos, Elina Cerla, Jofre Casanovas, Gonzalo Rodríguez, Núria Albesa, Lucía Díaz, Marc Larré and Rosa Gabriela are some of the protagonists of this exhibition in the field of painting and sculpture. Artists such as Marta Vergonyós, Mar Serinyà, Job Ramos, Maria Alzamora, Azucena Moya and Mariona Moncunill wanted to bet on communicating their art with projects more oriented in the field of audiovisual creation.
