'Red Bernard. The red room' at Casal Solleric

Casal Solleric presents the works of the artist Bernardi Roig in the ShowCase, patio, red room and balcony of the Casal, from February 1 to April 14, 2024.

Bernardí Roig has adapted his work to the spaces of Casal Solleric, and has produced the piece La mascara del cérvol especially for the exhibition. In an artistic project with a vanishing point of the geometric center, the periphery of the Casal, occupying the ShowCase, a balcony of the facade and the courtyard: the outskirts of the palace. The point of escape is the space of intimacy, The red room that gives the artistic project its title.

Bernardí Roig's artistic practice refers to a society trapped in an era characterized by a lack of historical memory and identity. Through painting, installations, video, filmic appropriation or even essayistic drift (as can be seen in the compilation of "monologues" in the book Binissalem) he concentrates on the conflicts that arise from the 'absence of communication between us. In a world taken over by mass media, Roig's individuals have lost the ability to distinguish between truth and fiction as well as between what really matters and what is trivial.
