For three days (December 8, 9 and 10) the contemporary artists of l'Escala gather to exhibit and show their creative visions. The Mostra d'Art Contemporani de l'Escala, Les Muses is an event that brings together contemporary artists to exhibit and show their creative visions. This exhibition seeks to celebrate artistic diversity and promotes dialogue between artists and viewers. This year's Les Muses poster was designed by the artist Jose María Sánchez based on a head of studio by the photographer Josep Esquirol.
The second edition of Les Muses Contemporary Art Exhibition will bring together more than 70 artists and allow visitors to visit a total of 13 workshops and 14 public and private exhibition spaces in l'Escala. In this year's edition, you can visit 13 workshops of l'Escala artists and 14 exhibition spaces. Among other proposals, the presentation of the work of the American artist Philip Stanton, the photographic exhibition of 10 students from the El Pedró high school, the exhibition Let's make plastic a work of art or the exhibition Art without barriers by the Ager foundation in Barcelona.
A photography workshop given by Rosa Gabriela, winner of the last Escala Spring Scholarship, an "au plain air" drawing workshop by the prestigious painter Manolo Sierra, the screening of the first chapter of the Artis program dedicated to Pujolboira, the children's collaborative mural coordinated by the Artivisme al CER collective, or the poetic recital by La Divina Espai Creatiu are just some of the activities that complete this year's Les Muses program. A festival for which its organizers have having much more time to ride than last year.
"Last year we wanted to see how Les Muses would fit into the landscape of festivals and art exhibitions in the area and the reception was very good", admits Tània Hirte, graduate in Humanities and curator of the exhibition. She acknowledges gratefully that behind this year's growth is hidden the wide network they have built, slowly and with the support of the whole team of the City Council's Department of Culture and Tourism, in these last twelve months when "synergies have been woven" from other events, exhibitions and activities. In his opinion, "we are consolidating ourselves aesthetically", since the external image is already the sample, which has served to attract "renowned artists".
