THE VILLAGE Center for research and experience of space will be a project promoted by the RCR BUNKA Foundation and RCR LAB·A, with the aim of creating a unique place for thinking, exploring and experiencing space, understanding it from 'a transdisciplinary vision of architecture. LA VILA will be a center of transversal and shared creativity, open to everyone, in a suitable and unique territory of 140 hectares of mountains, forests and meadows, with farming and livestock buildings, in the Vall de Bianya. The intention is for this center to become an international point of reference for thought, reflection, research and experience, as well as a center for the generation of talent, the creation of synergies and a laboratory of experiences, which leads to the generation of new relationships and behaviors The initiative starts from the LA VILA project that the architects started years ago, and now it is being given an impetus to transform it into a multidisciplinary creative center.
RCR Architects
The RCR architects, Rafael Aranda, Carme Pigem and Ramon Vilalta, have been working together since 1988 in their hometown, Olot, with a team formed by their side. In 2013 they created the RCR BUNKA Foundation to socially stimulate appreciation for architecture, landscape, arts and culture. In 2017 they set up RCR LAB·A, an open architectural laboratory space to develop creative research and transversality.
His works stand out for the special care taken to relate the architecture to the surrounding landscape. The professional activity carried out by RCR Arquitectes over the course of 35 years has been and is the subject of increasing appreciation, both nationally and internationally.
