Since last October 13, the Aragonese painter Elena Montull (Fraga, Huesca, 1976) presents a sample of thirty paintings of her most recent work at the gallery of El Claustre de Figueres. This is Montull's seventh solo exhibition in the rooms of El Claustre and the fourth in Figueres.
The works in this exhibition follow the usual style and theme of the artist, such as the portraits of female models, conceived and represented from a photographic prism, both in terms of the conception of the subject, the framing and position of the figures, as well as the use of light and backgrounds, resources that the painter uses to focus attention on the expressiveness of the hands and gaze. In this current series, and as he has been doing since 2020, the artist uses stripes and spots of color to relieve the works of the formalism and rigidity that in some cases could become, achieving a much more effective effect dynamic and friendly. Regarding Montull's professional career, reference should be made to his last individual exhibitions at the El Claustre Art Gallery, Girona and Figueres as well as at the Trèbol Gallery, Barcelona, Galeria Intellecte, Sabadell, Academia de Belles Arts, Sabadell, Sala CAI, Zaragoza, etc.
In terms of group exhibitions, the artist has also exhibited at Collors Gallery, Edinburgh, Great Britain. FYR Gallery, Florence, Italy. Imagine YmaG'ART, Switzerland. Das Emschertal Museum, Dormund, Germany. COMMENIUS Young Art Exhibition, Stockholm, Sweden. This exhibition can be visited until October 28 from Tuesday to Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and from 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The gallery is closed on Mondays and holidays.
