Ferran Vidal Planellas at the Cork Museum of Catalonia

On September 23, at 7:30 p.m., the exhibition dedicated to the work of Ferran Vidal Planellas opens in the temporary exhibition hall of the Museu del Suro de Catalunya.

From a young age he stood out for his accurate drawings, worked in Barcelona in the fashion sector and went through the Massana school. At the age of 20 he went to live in Paris. During her career, she has exhibited her works, framed in the style of "Art Deco" feminine glamour, in places such as Amsterdam, Bilbao, Andalusia, Barcelona or Girona.

In his works you can see a great emotional charge of safe lines with a drawing influenced by Modigliani and Picasso. A lover of jazz, and specifically of Billie Holiday, one of the most important voices of this musical genre, she seems to inspire her slender women of the night.

His training in fashion design is present with the stroke type. His female figures, outside the everyday and far from the mundane, make up a gallery of sinuous bodies, sometimes naked or piled up in an intimate or sensual context. In the different series, the firm and at the same time sweet look and the repetition of the red mark of make-up under the eyes that is her personal mark stand out. At times it can remind us of the posters made during the Belle Époque by Toulouse-Lautrec with dancers from the Moulin Rouge cabaret, with cigarettes in hand and colorful garters. At other times the figures look like leading actresses from American films from the 1930s.

The painter Modest Cuixart spoke of his work as "the constant search for sensuality, in a plethoric world of forms, color and glamour".
