Passionate about art, he started as an antique dealer and opened the Gothsland gallery in Barcelona

Gallerist Fernando Pinós Sánchez (Barcelona, 1947) has died at the age of 75. Passionate about art, Pinós started as an antique dealer and, years later, opened the Gothsland gallery in Calle Consell de Cent in the Catalan capital. In 2010 he founded the Museum of Modernism, located in an old textile factory designed by the architect Enric Sagnier in Carrer de Balmes. "Fernando Pinós, gallerist, father of gallerists and founder of the Museu del Modernisme de Barcelona, has left us. An art enthusiast and a reference in Catalan painting at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries", lamented the association of Galeries d'Art de Catalunya, which in 2019 recognized the professional career of Fernando Pinós with a GAC Honorary Award.

Fernando Pinós has declared that his father "was my father and mentor. He was a man of integrity, honest, brave and a reference for many friends and colleagues. Together with his wife Maria, they started from nothing a business dedicated to art, which would become their passion. After more than 50 years dedicated to preserving and promoting Modernism, in an act of generosity, they wanted to share with their fellow citizens the compendium of their vital legacy by founding the Museum of Modernism in Barcelona through the Gothsland gallery".
