The 13th edition of the FAD Art Awards, the awards organized by the Association of Artists and Artisans for the Promotion of Arts and Design (A-FAD), already has the list of 33 selected. They have been chosen for the innovative work in the use of materials, the excellence in the application of the technique, the relevance of the concept and the fact that they represent the most contemporary trends in the artistic sector of the State in recent months. Among the works are Belluguet, by Sandra Partera Garcia; Concatenada, by Irene Cases; Woman without a breast, by Montse Kodina; Holes, from mercepaytuvi.cat; The forms of the world, by Pere Ginard; Morphology of August, by Mariona Cañadas and Pedro Murúa, or Un meter square de mar, by Montse Artés Cornellas.
The five members of the jury evaluated a total of 216 works of art presented this year. The jury consists of Stella Rahola Matutes, artist; Sabel Gavaldon, exhibition curator and head of Public Programs at MACBA; Rocío Santa Cruz, director of the Rocío Santa Cruz Gallery and Arts Libris; Pere Parramon, writer, teacher and cultural manager; and Begoña Corzo, journalist.
The organizers have emphasized that the selected works represent "contemporary trends in the work of textiles, ceramics, painting, metal, wood and paper".
All of them choose to win the FAD Art Award 2023, which will be announced on Monday 16 October from 19.30 at the Auditorium del Disseny Hub Barcelona. The delivery gala will take place and, subsequently, the celebratory party sponsored by Moritz, as part of Barcelona Design Week.
