Mor Alberto Anaut, founder of La Fábrica and promoter of PHotoEspaña

Alberto Anaut, founder of La Fábrica and promoter of various cultural initiatives such as the PhotoEspaña festival, has died at the age of 68 due to a long illness, as confirmed by the publisher.

"Alberto was living with a long illness that did not prevent him from working until the last minute with his entire team," said the statement issued by La Fabrica after the news was announced: "All of us have been working and learning these years we will try to maintain his legacy and contribute to promoting culture with the same tenacity, enthusiasm and affection that he put into each project."

Anaut was director of the cultural company La Fábrica, and from it he created PHotoEspaña, the most important photography festival in Spain, and the literary festival EÑE, also the most prominent in the country in its category. La Fàbrica also organizes the Notodofilmfest, for short films, the Madrid Design Festival, dedicated to design, and Pública, a gathering of cultural professionals, among other events.
