Fundación MAPFRE has announced the 2nd edition of the KBr Photo Award, an international prize with a biennial frequency open to photographers who plan to make a new project or finish one that they have already started, unpublished in both cases, that has not been submitted to any other similar call.
The endowment of the prize is 25,000 euros. In addition to this amount, Fundación MAPFRE will produce and organize an exhibition at its two headquarters (Barcelona and Madrid), where the result of the awarded project will be shown. Together with the exhibition, Fundación MAPFRE will publish the catalogue.
The jury of the award consists of four prominent members of the art world: Michael Mack, publisher (London); Alona Pardo, curator of the Barbican Art Gallery (London); Valentín Roma, director of La Virreina Image Center (Barcelona); and Elisabeth Sherman, chief curator and director of exhibitions and collections at the International Center of Photography -ICP- (New York). In addition to Carlos Gollonet, chief curator of photography at Fundación MAPFRE.
