The MAMT has inaugurated the Boothworks exhibition by Cristina Garrido (Madrid, 1986), an exhibition that can be visited until September 3rd, in parallel with the other temporary proposal this summer: Sarcophagus, by Jorge Conde.

The exhibition of photography and video art Boothworks questions how the viewer's perception changes depending on whether they are in a studio, a museum, a gallery or a fair? What elements lead to modify the experience?.

Boothworks, by Cristina Garrido is a project that explores the relationship between contemporary art and fairs. It does so ironically and scathingly, and raises questions that concern any viewer.

Through resources such as appropriationism and archaeology, Cristina Garrido investigates fairs and the rhetorical elements that accompany and frame works of art. His proposals, two videos and a series of works on paper, propose an explicit manipulation of the collected materials, in such a way as to show the mechanisms that influence the perception of the viewer.

The exhibition is part of the Right to Replica cycle, curated by Francesco Giaveri and articulated in several exhibitions and meetings with artists and activists who investigate the role of institutions in promoting and offering culture.

In parallel to this exhibition, the MAMT also offers the public a visit to the 'Sarcophagus' exhibition, by the artist Jorge Conde (Barcelona, 1968), which is also open until September 3. This proposal becomes an essay on the energy transition towards a cleaner and more sustainable model based on the marks on the landscape and the first and second generation nuclear memory, based on the Vandellòs power plant, in the Baix Camp, and other sites in the process of closure, decontamination, dismantling and recovery of the landscape.
