The submission deadline for the second edition of the KBr Photo Award is open

From June 1, the submission period for the second edition (2023) of the KBr Photo Award, the biennial international prize that the Foundation convenes to contribute to the recognition and projection of authors with a professional career already in progress, is open and with a work that shows special artistic values within the tradition of documentary photography.

The KBr Photo Award is open to photographers of legal age, who plan to carry out a new photographic project or the completion of a project already started, unpublished in both cases, which has not been submitted to any other similar call . Candidates must have a career in which they have already held at least one individual exhibition or have a publication. The subject is free. However, it will be appreciated that the proposal falls within the tradition of documentary photography.

The award, which is granted to unpublished projects, aims to distinguish and promote the career of the awardee through its cash endowment, the exhibition of the project in the two rooms of the Foundation (KBr and Madrid) and the publication of the corresponding catalog.

The jury for this second call is made up of:

• Valentí Roma, director of the Palau de la Virreina Image Center (Barcelona)
• Elisabeth Sherman, Chief Curator and Director of Exhibitions and Collections, International Center of Photography (ICP), New York
• Carlos Gollonet, chief curator of photography at the MAPFRE Foundation
