bonart girona - 04/05/23

On May 3rd, the new book by film director and producer Albert Serra (Banyoles, 1975) entitled A toast to Sant Martirià was presented at Espai 22 on Carrer de les Hortes in Girona. The event was presented and directed by professor and film critic Àngel Quintana, who also brought copies of his book Semper tindré Paris.

Serra's book, which is published by Hurtado y Ortega Editores, relives the speech that Serra improvised as the herald of the Sant Martirià festivities: a vivid tour of his formative years and a tribute to all the people who have helped shape his particular conception of the world of cinema, art and life. The book, which has around 116 pages, can be purchased for a price of 13.90 euros in different bookstores in Girona and Barcelona.

Anna Somina's exhibition on the landscapes of the Costa Brava

Parallel to the presentation of Serra's book, those attending the event were able to enjoy Anna Somina's temporary exhibition "The road took me to the sea, the Costa Brava through the eyes of a Ukrainian woman" which can be visited until April 28 from Monday to Friday from 17:30 to 20:00 in the evening.

In this exhibition Somina reproduces the landscapes of the Costa Brava, specifically in Calonge, which according to the artist "I feel inspired by the nature of Catalonia which rehabilitates it and gives me strength to overcome the drama of the war that is happening in my country and with this exhibition what I want is to sing the beauty of nature."
